Todd Ehalt

As a therapist I desire to serve my clients with compassion, and seek to understand them. I not only hope to listen and hear my clients with my ears, but more importantly with my heart. I see the therapeutic relationship and space as sacred. A place where empathetic presence leads to change. I see each client as a unique individual with their own hopes and dreams, strengths and weaknesses, and wounds and fears. With this acknowledgement, my treatment of each client takes into account this uniqueness.

There is a time in everyone’s life when they need someone to turn to. Perhaps, one may be struggling with a relationship(s), a career transition, dealing with loss, or experiencing a whole host of other curve balls life can throw at them. These are great times to seek out a counselor. Others may need healing from past trauma(s), feeling down in the dumps, or find themselves living with life altering worries. These are also times one may find help from a trained mental health professional. If you can relate to any of the above, it would be my pleasure to be that person for you. I want to walk with you through your personal journey of healing and transformation.

As a certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P) and former health coach, I take a holistic health approach to mental health. I look at the whole person, mind, body and soul in the healing process.

My former work in a substance use disorder mental health clinic exposed me to a variety of diagnoses, including depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. It helped me hone my skills in these areas, especially trauma. My therapy focuses include trauma, life transitions (i.e. career change), pre-marital counseling, personal growth, and struggles related to physical health.

EDUCATION

I earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Winona State University, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Adler Graduate School. I also have a certification in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition.

NOTE: Accompanying me in sessions is my guide dog “Jordan.” He is a gentle hearted black lab, who is inclined to sleeping (he has agreed to keep confidentiality). Please pay him no mind as he will be working, assisting me in navigating my surroundings.
