MY APPROACH

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” — Psalm 23:1–4

Beginning counseling takes courage, and every person’s reason for coming is unique. You may be moving through a difficult transition, feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next. Counseling with me is a place to come as you are, bring the parts of your story you have never said out loud, and the things you are tired of carrying alone.

I welcome children, adolescents, adults, and families. My approach is person-centered and values based. Sometimes we need a safe place to slow down, understand what we are carrying, and listen more closely to what is happening inside us.

My faith in Jesus shapes my belief that every person possesses inherent dignity and is worthy of being known, loved, and treated with compassion. He met people in their grief, their questions, and their exhaustion, and never asked them to clean themselves up first.

EXPERIENCE

I grew up in Minnesota and earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology, and I am completing my Master of Science in Counseling at MSUM. I served in the MN Army National Guard and welcome prior or current service members or their families. Before entering the counseling profession, I spent my career working in business, operations, and executive support. These experiences showed me an appreciation for the demands people carry and the complexity of navigating change, and the importance of feeling heard and understood.
