Experience
I entered the counseling profession later in life after navigating periods of challenge and crisis. Walking through these dark valleys with Jesus gave me firsthand experience of His transformational healing power. I was also blessed by loving friends and counselors who walked alongside me and helped carry burdens that felt too heavy to bear alone. Now, I am grateful to be able to be a source of light, comfort, and hope to others who find themselves in one of life’s valleys.
I specialize in working with couples and individual adults. Whether you are looking to gain insight into personal behaviors and hone relational skills or you are navigating a crisis or ongoing life struggle, I would be honored to walk alongside you with warmth, nonjudgement, and collaboration in service of your goals. Often, fear and false beliefs about ourselves, God, and others can exacerbate our suffering, and I delight in helping people once again (or for the first time) hear the voice of truth and love that shatters the lies which keep us feeling trapped, alone, and powerless.
Education
I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walsh University in Ohio, as well as a graduate Secondary Education Degree from Western New Mexico University and bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish from the University of Minnesota. I taught middle school for ten years before transitioning to raising my own children full-time. I lead multiple groups for women healing from betrayal trauma, and I am a certified facilitator of the PREPARE-ENRICH assessment for pre-marital and married couples seeking counseling, as well as a certified facilitator of the Adventures in Marriage curriculum for couples.
