Heather works with children, adolescents, families and individuals. She has specialized training in working with Reactive Attachment Disorder and enjoys working with adoptive, pre-adoptive and foster families. She has also supervised practice in working with ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, oppositional defiant disorder, adjustment disorder, marital struggles and grief and loss.
Heather earned her Bachelors of Science Degree at the University of Minnesota Duluth in Psychology and her Masters of Science in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University. Heather is also a Board Approved Supervisor for the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. She is a trainer for Trauma Informed Care for Caregivers from the National Traumatic Stress Network and has conducted trainings for mental health professionals and practitioners on Trauma Informed Care. Heather has spoken at professional conferences and has been a guest lecturer on Reactive Attachment Disorder.
Heather has a passion for working with children, families and individuals. She feels called to serve through the counseling profession and to help others find hope and healing. Her counseling style is client led, walking with clients on their journey. She finds it a privilege to hear the stories shared in the counseling setting and creates a nonjudgmental and supportive environment.
