My Approach
Do you feel overwhelmed by problems in a relationship and need insight into yourself and others?
Are you riding a rollercoaster of emotions and long to feel heard and understood?
Do you feel stuck in a rut and need motivation, courage, and a plan to transform your life?
If you’re seeking an encouraging, practical approach to change… or you need someone who believes in you and your God-given talents and strengths… or you long for an approach that focuses less on your problems and more on your desired outcomes… I may be just the right psychotherapist for you!
I value compassion, respectfulness, encouragement, and hope. I believe God is the ultimate source of all healing and growth and God empowers us to participate in His work. I believe in activating the unique dreams and “superpowers” God has placed within every individual. My mission is to inspire people to harness their God-given strengths and transform their lives.
Experience
Both my professional and personal experiences have uniquely equipped me to offer comfort and guidance to others. I know the difficulty of supporting others through mental health struggles; the trauma of divorce; the burdens of single motherhood; the challenges of going back to school; and the complexity of dating, remarrying, and creating a new blended family with step-kids.
I have greatly benefitted from the group therapy support of other Christian women, led by a wise therapist with similar life challenges. I have experienced the most profound transformations in my life and relationships through applying new information I’ve learned from personal research and psychotherapy. I became a psychotherapist to share the wisdom I’ve learned along the way and to accompany others on their own journeys of discovery and transformation.
Education
I have a master’s degree from Adler Graduate School in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I completed a lengthy master’s thesis on Positive Psychology (the scientific study of what makes life and people good), focusing on personal character strengths necessary for marriage and marriage therapy. I am also trained to teach workshops about marriage principles and skills based on the groundbreaking marriage research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman.
