My areas of experience and specialization include marital counseling, anger management, depression, anxiety and panic, grief and loss, divorce recovery, stress management, chronic illness, abuse and domestic violence and addictions. As a result of my own life experience, I possess a special interest in, and a heart for, strengthening, maintaining, and preserving marriages.

Since receiving my counseling degree in 1974, I have provided counseling and other clinical services to people in a wide variety of settings, including primary healthcare, in-home, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities, corrections, and outpatient counseling centers.

All of us experience problems and difficulties in our lives. Sometimes though, these problems become difficult to the point where we seek out professional counseling. Recognizing that there is a problem is the first step toward finding a solution. My general approach to counseling involves using people’s already existing strengths and abilities in conjunction with counseling theories, techniques and biblical principles to work toward finding effective solutions to problems. These solutions can lead to increased satisfaction in daily life and improved relationships.

I am a believing Christian and utilize a Christ centered approach to working with clients, but will allow you to determine how spirituality and faith are used in your counseling. I will listen with empathy as we work together to set realistic goals to help you attain the goals you desire from our work together.
